Work-life balance is a myth! You might have heard that it is. But honestly, it’s a lifestyle. For creative entrepreneurs like us who always hustling every day (and sometimes every weekend as well), work-life balance can be a myth. On the February 18th, 2018, we hosted a self-care panel where we invited Chicago creative entrepreneurs to share their story on how they manage to create balance in their work and life plus give you their insights about self-care along with tips and tricks to avoid burnouts while working on creative projects.

Among our panelist speakers, we were delighted to have:

  1. Natasha Casanova, Owner of Kathmandu Yogi
  2. Vunzai T. Yeazel, Founder of Gorgeous Within
  3. Laura Sage, Co-Founder & CEO of CH/LL
  4. Choncé Maddox, Personal Finance Expert & Money Coach of My Debt Epiphany
We kicked-off the event with an intro from our MC, Lauren Ramsey, Chief Engagement Officer of Betsy Bash. Followed by the opening speaker from our Creative Women’s Co. founder Ari Krzyzek. She shared her personal note on self-care, insights and experience surrounding self-care and how she encouraged everyone to have a self-care routine.

The evening went on with our panel discussion. Led by our moderator Amanda Boleyn, Founder/CEO of She Did It Her Way. She Did It Her Way is a resource for women who want to launch a business and successfully transition out of Corporate America.

It was inspiring to hear every speaker’s story and their own interpretation about self-care and some of the experiences they’ve had trying to find balance in their day-to-day life. Our friend and event partner Elisha-Rio Apilado helped us captured all the info with her graphic recording above.

From finding your own community, to learn how to say NO. Things you should prioritize and what do you sacrifice. For many of the attendees, this self-care panel could not have come at a better time for them.

The discussion we had at the event flow consistently with everyone asking questions and giving ideas to one another. At the end of the event, we all got a chance to network with other creative women who came and continuing our conversations online on our Facebook group.

It was a fantastic and inspiring evening. We wouldn’t be able to make this event happen without the support of our MC, moderator, speakers and event partners. Thank you to:
