It was a fun and eye-opening time at our CWC Brunch! Our guest speaker, Kelley Kitley of Kelly Kitley Serendipitous Psychotherapy LLC, guided us on making short long-term goals while creating a vision for our next steps in our career. Kelley led us through a visualization exercise and mindfulness activity to help us take our next leap. No is not an answer for us and our goals!
Kelley took us into a deep exploration of ourselves, what our visions for our futures are, and why no is not an option. She shared her journey of trying to get her book published, and how it was a stressful yet much needed learning experience. She faced rejection after rejection, but Kelley knew she had to keep trying. When she finally received a yes, the publisher soon went bankrupt, and she found herself back at square one. Kelley knew quitting would mean her book would never see the light of day. She kept at it, and eventually she was able to publish “My Self: An Autbiography of Survival.” Her story would be told, and she knew that there were many others who needed to keep pushing to pursue their goals. Kelley stressed that there will be a lot of obstacles and negatives in the way, ALOT OF NO’S, but that shouldn’t stop us. We all know deep down what’s best for us, and eventually a yes will find us.
